Corporate Secretary

Our client, a top government entity based in Abu Dhabi is looking for an Emirati Corporate Secretary to join their team in the General Council. The Secretary will be responsible for handling the administrative duties for the overall organization by attending, minuting and following up on several committees, liaising internally and externally with various high calibre government entities and officials, and ensuring all requirements regarding due process are adhered to.

Please note, as per client's requirements, this is an Emiratisation role and only Emiratis with a Family Book will be contacted.

The Role:

- Ensure the effective running of all board, board committee and other committee meetings by scheduling meetings, preparing the agenda, and taking minutes of the meeting in both English and Arabic
- Track the progress of minute action items (follow ups / reminders) and communicate with staff in respect thereto
- Co-ordinate any other board or committee related activities
- Manage the document and filing system for all board related topics
- Manage the annual report compilation (solicit input for the individual sections and topics and prepare the report)
- Support the internal communication activity, including drafting, finalizing, and communicating certain activities in the company on regular basis
- Create and maintain hard copy and electronic filing system
- Support the senior management in assigned project-based work
- Coach and mentor UAE nationals


- UAE National with a Family Book
- Preferably a legal degree (LLB or LLM) from a reputable university and 5-7 years’ post-qualification experience in legal roles, ideally some of them in-house
- If no legal degree, a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Administration or other relevant field and at least five years’ of hands-on Corporate Secretarial experience in a bilingual environment, ideally within financial services
- Previous working experience in the UAE, ideally in a government institution or financial services company
- Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in creating, revising and reviewing complex documents and senior level presentations
- Experience in handling documents with legal content or relevance (general understanding, translation, follow-up, writing text/minutes at a proficiency level that they are acceptable from a compliance and governance perspective)
- Fluent in both English and Arabic with experience and outstanding proficiency in spelling, grammar and translation between the two languages.
