Mark Williams is currently working with a leading government entity in Abu Dhabi looking for a Principal Cloud Architect to lead the organization’s enterprise cloud transformation journey, setting the direction for a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environment

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement the overall cloud strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with business and digital transformation objectives
- Lead migration and modernization initiatives across on-premise, private, and public cloud platforms
- Establish governance, automation, and security standards to ensure consistent and compliant cloud operations
- Manage vendor relationships, including commercial negotiations, contracts, and performance reviews
- Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed cloud best practices and enable innovation through automation and modern engineering tools

Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure, or technology strategy roles
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including architecture, automation, and security
- Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud environments and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Proven experience in cloud governance, automation pipelines, and DevSecOps
- Skilled in stakeholder management, vendor oversight, and cross-functional collaboration
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are an advantage
